BioSync v4
The following explains how to scan using the miHealth and BioSync (version 4)
Instructions
These instructions assume other instructions have been used to install BioSync. It can be downloaded from the Portal under “Download Scan Software.”
Main Menu
On loading up BioSync, you will be presented with four options. (If you are offline, you will not be shown the options for Scheduling or Questionnaires, which require an internet connection.)
- Scan – scanning into NES BWS
- miHealth Updater – updating the NES miHealth device software
- Schedule – scheduling appointments on the NES Portal
- Questionnaire – assigning, submitting, and viewing form data on the NES Portal
You will also see the online status in the application footer. A green circle with “Online” will show when BioSync has detected an Internet connection. A red dot with “Disconnected” will show if no Internet connection is detected.
Scanning
In order to use the scanning functionality either online or offline, you must initially log in when connected to the internet. This will create a link to your online account and verify you are a NES Health user. After that, you can work online or offline.
Each time you move online or offline, you will need to CLOSE BioSync and RE-OPEN it so that it can detect your new status of being online or offline.
- Click Scan.
- Log in with the email address and password you have been provided by NES Health.
- Please note that if you have scanned anyone OFFLINE, and you are now logging in ONLINE, any clients/scans added while in offline mode will now be uploaded to the Portal.
- If you are a NES Health practitioner, you will be presented with the following client management screen.
- If this is the first time you are logging in, BioSync will download all client names (not all scans).
- If you have created a client on Portal and the client name isn’t yet showing up in BioSync, click “Update List.”
Scanning an Existing Client
Select SCAN on the home page of BioSync
Click “Show All Clients.”
Select the client by clicking on their name.
You will be taken to the scanning screen.
You can now connect either a NES hand scanner or your miHealth device.
If connecting a miHealth device, use the cord it came with and turn your miHealth on.
Once on you will see the screen display two bars - this indicates that your device is in scan mode.
Place your hand on the electrodes on the back. You can also place the miHealth on your pet or horse.
Once the body field is detected you can continue with your scan as normal.
Note: “Rapid Scan” is available only on the practitioner version of this software, so can only be done in person with clients at this time. If your client has trouble keeping their hand on the scanner for 10 seconds, select the Rapid Scan option prior to clicking Start Scan.
At the end of the scan, the following message will be shown on BioSync:
For Practitioners:
The NES Portal will automatically open with the scan results of the BioSync scan.
For Clients:
If it attempts to open a scan for a client who hasn’t been given permission by their practitioner to view their scan results immediately, the scan page will tell them they need to contact their practitioner for permission.
The practitioner will get an email notification that a scan has been completed.
If an attempt is made to scan the client within five days of the previous scan, the following message is displayed:
