The red cross will appear when the date and time on the miHealth V1 is set more than 13 hours from the current date/time set.
13 hours is to allow one to set their device to different time zones when traveling. This limit prevents one from changing their date back to extend any custom cycles which always have an expiry date.
If your device is restarting and setting itself to a date 30 years into the future please contact E4L support and ask for a force update on your device.
