The miHealth is a powerful hand-held, non-invasive, biofeedback device. It is effective for reducing stress, releasing and re-educating energy flow, muscles, nerves, organs, and areas of the body. As stress is released, energy can flow properly and support the body’s optimal health.
Superseding other biofeedback devices, miHealth combines the NES one-of-a-kind information-based technology with many established technologies, including:
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)
PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequencies)
SCENAR (Self-Controlled Energy Adaptive Regulation)

If your miHealth device starts acting a little differently or turns off during a cycle it may need time to reset it. Just like a computer benefits from being restarted, the miHealth benefits from being reset, especially if it is used often.
Basic Maintenance
Calibrating Electrodes
You will need to calibrate electrodes any time you use external electrodes and any time you switch back to internal electrodes. Other times you may want to calibrate the electrodes would be after traveling or after big weather changes. If you use your device daily in your practice, you may want to calibrate the electrodes once per week just to make sure your device is perfectly calibrated.
To calibrate the electrodes, tap the wrench icon on the bottom right side of the screen to access the settings menu and select Calibrate Electrodes.
Soft Reset
It is a good idea to do a soft reset regularly if you use your device daily with patients or if your device starts to act a little differently. (less responsive, screen flickers, the device turns off during a cycle)
This simple reset uses the two side buttons and the on/off button.
With the miHealth off, press all three buttons at the same time, hold for 2 seconds, release the on/off button first, hold the two side buttons for another second, and release them as well. Your device will restart. Here is a video demonstration of the Soft Reset.
Calibrating the screen
If your screen presses become less accurate or the screen is unresponsive you can re-calibrate the screen. The screen calibration process adds one button press to the soft reset described above. You will be using the on/off button, the two side buttons, and the top right button on the face of your device.
With the miHealth off, press all four buttons at the same time, hold for 2 seconds, release the on/off button, and the two side buttons, hold the top right button for another second, then release.
If the presses were successful, you will see a 3x in the top left corner of your screen. Use the Stylus to tap in the top left corner three times, then do the same in the bottom right corner. Here is a video demonstration of the Screen Calibration.
Advanced Maintenance
If the electrode calibration and soft reset do not help to bring your device back to optimal functioning you will want to take these next steps. These steps require the use of the BioSync software. The installation file is available for download in your NES portal under Resources.
Forced Update
A forced update is performed using BioSync software and a computer. The forced update will refresh your miHealth operating system and may be needed if the soft reset is not solving your device issues. The forced update is also needed if you change your device battery and there is a key symbol on your screen.
The forced update needs to be set by the NES support team first. To do so please open a support ticket by visiting https://help.neshealth.com/ scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting Submit a Request
You will need to ask for a Forced Update and provide your NES user email and the Unit id of your miHealth. The unit ID consists of numbers and letters. It can be found on the settings screen by selecting miUnit. It is also displayed on the sticker inside the battery compartment of your device under the barcode.
Once you receive a positive response from the support team, you can proceed. Open BioSync, connect your miHealth, turn your miHealth on, select miHealth updater on BioSync, and proceed with the update.
Factory Reset
You may at times be asked to do a Factory Reset on your device. The factory reset will re-install the operating system on your device. This should only be performed if asked to do so by a support team member. Keep in mind that a factory reset will remove any custom folders you have created. You will need to re-create any custom folders you want on your device after the reset is complete. Instructions will be sent by a support team member when needed.
