Welcome to Week 6, How to Scan
This week we are discussing How to Scan from the Quick Start Lessons. You should read this section thoroughly and try all scanning techniques. This ensures you understand possible complications your clients may have. Since the Quick Start Lesson for this week provides ample illustrations, we will talk about a few common topics regarding the scan.
Voice Scan
The Voice Scan is one of the most utilized ways to perform a scan. Through this technology, we can measure where the body-field needs support. This article provides background information on how the Voice Scan was developed.

❇️Note ‼️ The Voice Scan does not require you or your clients to download the Biosync app. This is especially useful if you are working with elderly or ill clients who may struggle with this extra step.
BioSync
The BioSync desktop application performs scans using the miHealth device and the hand-held scanner. You can find the links for Windows or Mac by going to Resources.
Your BioSync application should have four boxes when you are online with an internet connection.
💡Note ‼️ Once you download BioSync onto your computer, you do not have to download it again. We recommend adding a shortcut to your desktop to quickly access it.
BioSync is also used to look for software updates for your application and your miHealth device. After opening the application, click on the second button from the left, miHealth Updater and you will see the screen illustrated below.
One of our newest features is the Custom Cycles button. If you create a Custom Cycle based on the Scan Recommendations for yourself or your clients, you simply open BioSync, plug in your device, click miHealth Updater, and click on Custom Cycles to load the folder onto the device. This feature also allows you to remove cycles from your miHealth. You can also remove unwanted custom cycles with this feature.
Client Scan Settings
You can decide the level of viewing after your clients have performed their scans. You can also decide if you want your clients to see their scans immediately or after you review them beforehand.
To find your Scan Screen Settings, go to your My Account section and click on Scan Screen Settings.
These settings may appear confusing, but there is an article directing you to instructions on how to use them.
Understanding how the settings work will help you during health fairs or giving free scans.
If you don’t mind allowing your clients to automatically see their scans you can opt-in on the Scans page.
Mobile App with Scanner
NES Health has an app that can be used with both Android and iPhones. You can find these apps on both the Google Play Store and the Apple Store. This app is a great alternative for your remote clients because it’s quick. Keep in mind that to use the app you or your clients will need a Bluetooth-enabled Hand Scanner to access the app. You will not be able to access the app without the scanner.
The most frequent question we receive is from clients reporting that their scanner is not visible in the available devices within the app. When this happens, enable Bluetooth and location services/permissions for the NES Health app and that will allow the device to be located.
Unlike most other Bluetooth devices, the Bluetooth connection between your phone and the scanner takes place inside the NES health app.
Wrapping Up!
It is important to spend time learning how to perform scans with various methods. Ask friends and family to scan both in the office and remotely to provide feedback on any issues they encounter. Know your clients. Some people are not as “tech savvy” as others and knowing which method would work best for them will save a lot of time and frustration.
